Humanity's Children

The rich man’s burning chasm of difference 
built through the violence of undoing creation’s soul
A man-made Hell

The beauty of difference is God’s land of love
The children of Lazarus sit at the gate to life where love dwells 
A transformed world of peace

With the faith of Abraham
They have lived in the land of conflict
Like bones thrown for dogs
Their beauty ignored
History forgets their names
Masses lost to the rich man’s shame
Their contribution to life ground in the dust

To make the world right
Lift up the children of Lazarus laid at the gate of your life
