Unable to Accept Eternal Torture

One of the most troubling belief of evangelicals is eternal torture.

------

Isn’t it wonderful a soul passes and we send them to heaven.

Hell isn’t suitable for those we love, and everyone is loved by someone.

An eternal torture chamber of unimaginable magnitude. Is this the work of your god?

Surely love empties such a wretched evil.

All good protestants prefer a purgatory of the perpetrator’s own creation.

A purgatory with an exit sign that reads; “Come unto me all ye…”.

--------

There is no rational theological response for belief in an eternal hell (Calivn's was absurd). To impose an infinite punishment upon a finite being is an intolerable act.

That evangelicals are comfortable with nearly every person ever born spending eternity in hell is incomprehensible. This belief is incongruent with the gospel, the will of God, and with good translation and interpretive practices.
